Knitting 101 invites members to learn to knit or refresh
what they’ve learned years ago. Also welcome are members who have
UFOs (UnFinished Objects) hidden in their closet and need inspiration
to finish them. We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at
1:00 PM at Renate's ranch. Expect to spend about 2 hours. There’s
a $10 fee for the initial 4 classes which includes one ball of alpaca
yarn and a set of bamboo knitting needles. You can bring your own
supplies, if you wish.
Knitting will continue after the first 4 classes and new members can
join anytime.
June 2011: Annette finished her sweater –
a long term project. Annette is a very relaxed and creative knitter (and
undoubtedly much more skilled than she lets you know). She goes with the
flow, and the result is amazing. She even ran out of yarn and didn’t
get excited about that. She managed to get more of the same dye
run. Some knitters are just lucky. Lynn decided on a different pattern
for her scarf and we were all pleased with the result. Cathy continues
to work on her son’s blanket – lucky guy. We visited
the two new babies and the nest of future Killdeer birds (on the ground
– we put a fence around it). Mom was appropriately unhappy about
our being in the pasture. She pretends to be unwell by spreading her wings
to look broken to get your attention away from the nest.
See you next time, Renate
