Purpose: The Eagle Point Women’s Club (EPWC) is an unincorporated, social organization directed by an elected, volunteer Board of Directors. It is composed of voluntary members who coordinate and participate in a variety of activity groups.
Membership:
- Membership in the EPWC is open to any woman aged 18 or older who has an Eagle Point address and resides in Eagle Point. (Revised 11/14/2017).
- The EPWC membership year is June 1-May 31. Dues are $20/year, renewable on or before May 31. The Board may review the fee for dues and make adjustments in that amount if operational needs make that necessary. A new member joining the Club after Jan. 1 of any year will not have to pay dues again until the regular renewal time in the following calendar year. Dues are non-refundable. Women who have been paid members for one or more years and reach the age of 90, will receive a complimentary membership for the remainder of the years they remain in Eagle Point and choose to be an EPWC member. Board of Directors:
- A volunteer Board of Directors oversees the activities and functioning of the EPWC. Board Directors are elected to a two year term of service in April of odd-numbered years and assume their Board positions on June 1 of the year elected.The Board of Directors is elected by the membership through an electronic ballot with a simple majority vote. The EPWC Board consists of the following Director positions: President, Vice-President/Membership Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Activity Coordinator, Luncheon Coordinator, Luncheon Program Coordinator and Website Coordinator. There are three non- Board member special coordinators who report to the Board including: Sunshine Coordinator I, Sunshine Coordinator II and Luncheon Table Decorator. In the event that a Board Director leaves office prior to the end of her term, the Board may appoint a willing replacement to complete the term. A Board director may be removed from office by a majority vote of the Board for just cause. (Revised 5/4/2021).
- Board meetings are convened by the Club president as needed and a quorum of a simple majority of the Board Directors is required to vote on business brought before the Board. Board meetings are open to attendance by Club members. (Revised 5/4/2021).
- The Board of Directors will prepare and adopt a balanced operational budget at the May Board meeting for the fiscal year beginning June 1. (Added 5/4/2021).
- The EPWC website is hosted by a qualified business for an agreed-upon fee approved by the Board of Directors. (Revised 5/4/2021).
- The Board of Directors will maintain a general liability insurance policy covering official activities engaged in by the Club. (Added 5/4/2021).
- All official meetings and activities hosted by the EPWC will abide by local, state and federal guidelines, regulations and laws. (Added 5/4/2021).
EPWC Activities
- Activity Groups meet on a scheduled basis and are open to current members on a space-available basis. Each group has a chairperson who is responsible for establishing and communicating meeting times and other details for planned activities. Groups are encouraged to submit a report and photos to the website highlighting completed activities. Activity groups are self-supporting. New activity groups may be established at any time if a chairperson is available, there is interest from Club members and the Board approves of the activity. (Revised 5/4/2021).
- A luncheon meeting and program is scheduled on the 3rd Wednesday (2nd Wed. in December) of even-numbered months and is open to any member who registers and pays the required fee. Any current Club member may bring one or more guests to a luncheon if they pay the required fee. Luncheon speakers may be paid a fee within the constraints of the approved annual budget. (5/4/2021).
