On Friday, September 21, the Hiking Group enjoyed the last day of summer, by hiking part of the Bull GapTrail which originates at the top of Mount Ashland. It was a beautiful – low 80’s day on an easy-to-moderate trail, that wound us through old growth forests and past vistas including the back side of the Mt Ashland’s ski runs. For an added treat we shared the trail with several mountain bikers( about 6) including a real cutie, named Kim, who stopped to talk with us. The bikers get shuttled up there then ride down the mountain to their destination.
Later, we relished a delicious lunch at Callahan’s Restaurant, where we relaxed and were treated to impeccable service in a cozy setting. It was an exquisite way to say goodbye to summer and welcome fall.
