The Book Club meet at Beth’s House for our Dec. book Fall of Giants by Ken Follett. This is the first in a trilogy which we all look forward to adding to our reading list. This story is the first which covers events, such as WW I, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women’s suffrage. It is also several love stories that all end with children who will be characters in the next book. It is also about all the countries and towns people in Germany, Russia, England, and America who were personally involved in the war and the in depths of insanity and politics behind each one. We all agreed that this is a great book. However, the history lesson has not been learned. We are still at the mercy of men at war.
The discussion was followed by a much lighter and fun gift exchange where everyone was a winner. Beth always throws a great book discussion and party for Christmas. Janet gave everyone a bookmark with the titles of the books we read together in 2012.
