The Knotty Ladies began the new year gathered around Lynn’s table on January 2. Members confirmed that their information was correct on the 2013 calendar and roster. Maxine shared thank you letters the group had received for donations to the Eagle Point D-9 Foundation, Santa’s Shop, and Access. Lydia has found a new charitable organization for our baby quilts. She donated five quilts to the Central Point branch of La Clinica which serves our local area. Another organization that might be able to use lap quilts is the Veterans’ Administration. Members may want to participate in the Quilts of Valor program for veterans or simply donate directly to the VA. The Ladies are interested in donating quilts that will remain in our locale rather than sending our quilts out of the area. The subject of loaning some of our personal quilts to the Eagle Point High School for a quilt show in conjunction with an upcoming play was discussed. Randi will check on security for this quilt show since it will run more than one weekend. Show and Tell included a charming photo book featuring Carol’s granddaughters, a Fons and Porter binder of scrap quilt patterns, magazines with knitting patterns, and a pinwheel quilt top made for Lydia’s granddaughter.
