December 5 was the evening of the D-9 Community Scholarship Dessert Fundraiser. Many thanks to the Ladies that decorated our 5 tables-Carolyn Steiber, Dora Moore, Betsy Hase and Linda O’Neal, Wyn Lewis, and Maxine Williams. We had more than enough desserts and we shared with several other groups. Our members really stepped up to make it festive. We had about 28 ladies and their husbands joining our group, but other members joined other tables. All in all, I would say that EPWC represented close to 2/5 of the 125 attending on such a chilly evening. Leon Sherman was the emcee, Eldene Ridinger spoke about the humble beginnings of the scholarship, Nicholas Nelson played his keyboard for our musical entertainment. He is a 14 year old freshman at the High School, and definitely going places with his music. The guest speaker was Dean MacInnis, a EPHS graduate, and now the Director of Recreation and Wellness at the Rogue Valley Manor. He has quite a sense of humor, and it is easy to see why he is loved by the residents at the Manor. When the evening was over, the envelopes were collected, and $4961 dollars will be added to the Fund. Many thanks to all who supported this Dessert Fundraiser! Maxine Williams, co-chair along with Nancy Hanon.
