Betty hosted the May 7 meeting of the Knotty Ladies. Most of the meeting was spent admiring and pricing the handmade items created by our members to sell at the Vintage Faire. After reviewing our various commitments for the event we sampled Bill’s delicious carrot cake and then moved on to show and tell. Dora has completed another Quilt of Valor, bringing our total to four quilts ready to be donated to the Veterans’ Administration Rehabilitation Center in White City. We also have a stack of baby quilts and blankets ready to be donated to the hospitals.
On Saturday, May 10, we braved the cold and the rain to join the Piecemakers under the roof at Centennial Park and show the community what fun it is to be a quilter. We displayed the quilts ready for donation as well as a variety of handmade items priced to sell.
There is no meeting planned for June or July but we may choose to hold a work day in June. The August meeting will be our annual retreat at the Hedges cabin on August 6.
