April 1 was an important day for the Knotty Ladies because our winter wanderers returned to the fold. Lydia hosted our regular meeting. The treasurer reported no changes. A shopping day has been planned for Wednesday, April 8. Dora, Lydia, Meridel, and anyone else who wishes to join us will meet at 9:30 a.m. to shop for border fabric for the “blue” soldier quilt. Lydia will work on the “red” soldier quilt as time allows. A Shop Hop is tentatively planned for Wednesday, June 3, with a trip to Klamath County being considered.
Show and Tell was most interesting. Betty shared a quilt that she and her daughter were working on. They will complete the hand sewing of the binding when Amy visits her this week. Dora’s daughter Amy will be the recipient of a special quilt to commemorate her completion of a Master’s degree. Dora also shared a block-of-the-month piece that she is working on. Linda brought Henrietta Cluckworth, a stylish cloth chicken and an intricate paper pieced wall hanging. She also shared patterns for tissue package covers, hexagon coasters, and cloth birds. Linda will lead a workshop on these items at our August retreat. Meridel showed a flannel and fleece baby quilt that had been rescued from a retired quilter’s stash.
The next meeting will be held at Linda’s home on May 6.
