Book Club for December 2015 was hosted at the home of Virginia Felker; and co-hosted by Charmaine Lewis. We deviated from our normal format of reviewing a single book, to sharing one of our favorite books.
Books shared ranged in styles and genres. A vintage book that one member originally bought, because she liked the ‘blue binding’; later after reading, became one of her favorites. A Dr. Seuss discussion brought back memories as did ‘The Polar Express’ presentation. Others enjoyed historical fiction and current bestselling authors.
The most interesting discussion was on memories of early childhood reading. We talked about what single childhood book discovery, might have brought on, a love of books as adults.
We also sampled lots of goodies, and everyone went home with a secret Santa gift.
Join us next month as we discuss ‘The Nightingale’.
