We had a very productive planning meeting this morning and I am pleased to report that we have some great ideas for outings in 2016 and beyond! Here is what we have, so far:
April 5 – Susan Watson volunteered to look into a Backstage tour of the Shakespeare Theatre. She has already looked into it and that date is not going to work due to an all staff meeting that day. June 7th is already booked as well. Luckily we set up an alternate tour. Susan has scheduled a tour of the Beekman House in Jacksonville. They just have to look into the availability of docents. They like to keep the number of people per room at no greater than 12.
June 7 – Annette Godfrey volunteered to plan a tour at Wild Life Images outside of Grants Pass.
August 2 – Elaine will talk to to Liz Crossman about her idea of a tour at the RCC Table Rock Campus. If timing is not right for that one, we decided on a tour at Dogs for the Deaf.
October 4 – Terry Sheldon volunteered contact Renata about a tour at the Alpaca Ranch followed by a meal at the Kriselle Winery.
December 6 – Sharon Close volunteered to plan this outing. We will do a repeat of last December, shop in Jacksonville and dine at one of the restaurants in town. Sharon needs to check on the date first. If she is not able to do it, Elaine will plan it. I know she really wants to attend this year so, hopefully, that will work out.
February 7, 2017 – Barbara Judy volunteered to plan a tour at Schmidt House Museum in Grants Pass.
Lunch locations for some of these are still to be determined by the planners.
We also received a number of ideas for more tours in 2017. There are a number of tours we have done in the past that we are interested in repeating so will do a couple of those next year. Keep those ideas coming! If you hear of something that would be a fun outing for us, just let me know. I am keeping a master list with all of our ideas.
Thank you to the ladies who attended the planning meeting and to all of you for ideas you have shared with me and will continue to share.
