On October 4th, fourteen ladies enjoyed a tour of Dogs for the Deaf. We met an adorable dog named Bonzai who showed us how he gets his owners attention when there is a noise, such as a doorbell, phone or smoke alarm sound. We learned that this wonderful organization also has programs for training Autism Assistance Dogs & Program Assistance Dogs (for clients & students with special needs). For dogs that go through the training but don't quite fit into a working dogs life, they become part of the Career Change Dog program. They are available for adoption. They are already trained and make wonderful pets.
After the tour we had an interesting lunch at Touvelle Lodge on Table Rock road. The rumors are true, they do have great burgers!
A big thank you to Terry Sheldon for planning this outing. Where will we go next???
