It is amazing what happens when you put 14 ladies together to plan outings for the next year. We have a great year planned for you! Here is the plan (so far):
February 7, 2017 – Our first outing of the year is coming right up. We are going to tour the Schmidt House in Grants Pass and then dine at Taprock Northwest Grill in Grants Pass. Details will be sent out in a separate email as soon as plans are finalized. Barbara Judy is the planner for this event and I will help her with the communications.
April 4, 2017 – This is the first of two repeat outings we will have this year. This was such a hit the first time that it made it to the “repeat outings list”. Some of you were not able to make it the first time plus, we have a number of ladies that are new to the area and have never been to: The Teapot on Wheels for High Tea. Ann Grossman will be the planner for this really fun outing.
June 6, 2017 – We are looking into the possibility of a tour at the Tibetan Temple south of Ashland followed by lunch in the Ashland area. Callahan’s and the Caldera Brewery were two suggestions. Viki Brown & maybe others will help out with planning this outing.
August 1, 2017 – We had planned to go to the Applegate Trail Interpretive Center but learned that they are only open Thursday through Sunday. So, plan B is in the works. Annette Godfrey is going to look into a wine trolley tour in the Applegate with optional lunch at Schmidt Family Vineyards.
September – Potential bonus outing this month. Susan Watson has suggested a bonus/joint outing with the book club group. We would go Silverton and tour The Gordon House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and also tour the Oregon Gardens. This would be an overnight trip and we would stay at the Oregon Garden Resort. The group would read the book “Loving Frank” by Nancy Horan. Susan says this book is a great read. It is about Frank’s mistress.
October 3, 2017 – We have 20 seats reserved for a back stage tour at the Shakespeare Theatre. Susan Watson is planning this one for us. There is a fee for the tour so she is putting down the deposit to hold the reservation for us. Because we have to reserve the tour, signing up will be on a first come, first serve basis. We will have lunch in Ashland.
December 5, 2017 – This will be the second repeat outing for 2017. Shopping in Jacksonville continues to be an absolute blast. We will have lunch at Bella Union and Elaine will be the planner.
February 6, 2018 – Another trip to Grants Pass in February! This time we will go to the Glass Forge for a glass blowing tour. Lunch in Grants Pass, location tbd. Elaine will be the planner but may ask for some help.
In addition to the above planned outings, we put some outings on a “back-up plan” list, just in case something goes wrong with the existing plans.
