July’s book club met at the home of Virginia Felker. We reviewed the book ‘The Orchid House’ by Lucinda Riley. This book is a historical fiction that spans from the 1930’s to the present day. It traveled from Wharton Park estate in England to Thailand. It dealt with an aristocratic family keeping secrets leading with consequences with twists and turns, and the staff they employed. Central to the story; one of these twists was the heir to Wharton Park marrying a society bride and then they were cruelly separated on the eve of World War II.
It was also fun to discuss the different ends to the story we might have imagined.
