Dora hosted the February meeting of the Knotty Ladies in her usual over-the-top flair. We welcomed two guests, Lynn Baker and Bonnie Scriba. Both Lynn and Bonnie will become Knotty Ladies members. A former Knotty Lady, Marcia Liekkio, has been injured so we signed a get well card which Dora will mail to her.
Our calendar for 2018 needed a little updating so we filled in the month of March with a work day at Lydia’s home (March 7). Lydia will let us know what time works best for her. Since we missed our December luncheon we have decided to hold it in June, possibly in conjunction with a shop hop.
Dora introduced the group to Tender Mercies, a twin bed sized quilt which will be donated to the Veteran’s Administration in White City when it is completed. The group worked on cutting, sewing, pressing, and trimming blocks as we planned out the details of this pinwheel pattern. Meridel gave each quilter a pattern and we were able to put one large block on the design board. Members can work at home on their own or wait until the March work party.
Rocky Point Quilt donated some left-over baby flannel to group knowing that we make baby quilts. Nothing goes to waste.
The next meeting, a work session, will be held on March 7. Lydia will let us know the time.
