The Knotty Ladies met at Maxine’s home on April 4. Dora reported that our treasury has had no deposits and no expenditures. The June Shop Hop and/or luncheon will be decided at the May meeting when our full membership may be present. Meridel will re-send the roster of members and meeting schedule since several members missed it.
Bonnie displayed the “Tender Mercies” soldier quilt that we have been working on. We are very near our goal of nine-patch blocks required for this quilt. It was decided to finish the quilt in the traditional way with batting and backing. Selecting fabrics for the borders and backing might be a focus for a June Shop Hop. Thanks to all who have worked so diligently on this project.
Several upcoming quilt shows were mentioned. Members wishing to attend together can let Meridel know and she will send out an email so we can organize a car pool.
• April 20 – 22: Umpqua Valley Quilters Guild juried show at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2110 Frear Street, Roseburg, Oregon.
• June 29 & 30: Mountain Stars Quilters Guild biennial show at the Medford Armory. Lydia, Dora, and Linda T. will be working this show. Lunch will be available as a fund raiser for Mountain Stars.
• July 14: The annual Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show on Cascade Avenue in Sisters, Oregon. Corner Quilts in Shady Cove is working on providing a luxury bus for the over-and-back day trip. Check with them for pricing and sign ups.
The usual grand assortment of show and tell included a baby quilt, gift basket items for a baby donation, a dimensional dahlia wall hanging in progress, a humming bird quilt, and fleece hats with bobbin flowers. Ya gotta love the stuff we sew.
Our next meeting will be on May 2 at Linda Townsend’s home. Hope to see you there.
