The Piecemakers held their first meeting of the New Year on January 9. This was largely an organizing meeting. We set up the all important snack schedule and quickly identified activities to do and techniques to learn. Field trips will begin with our delayed 2018 holiday lunch and shopping to be held at The Teahouse on Wheels on February 13. We added an October field trip to Klamath Falls and the Tater Patch in Merrill followed by our 2019 Holiday Lunch and fabric shopping excursion in Grants Pass in December. Throughout the year we will be learning quilting related techniques such as paper piecing, making a microwaveable bowl holder, a chenille technique and a hanging towel with trim. In May and June we will work on Quilt of Valor quilts. Show and Tell was inspiring, as usual. Rosenelle won the prize for most UFOs (unfinished objects) completed in 2018 and will receive a fat quarter of fabric from each member.
Note: we have openings for two new members.
Next Meeting: February 13 — Tea House on Wheels followed by fabric shopping in Grants Pass
