The Knotty Ladies met at Lynn’s home on April 3. We welcomed guest Helen Hensley who shared several of her quilts including her current project a paper-pieced wall hanging with tiny pieces. We also welcomed Betty’s return from her winter in Arizona. It’s good to have her back in the fold.
The group is winding down their donation quilt which now needs borders, backing, quilting, and binding. Lynn and/or Dora will look for a coordinating green for the backing. The borders will be the original green and the binding will be the rust colored focus fabric.
For our next project(s) we can choose individually to work on baby quilts, comfort quilts, or twin bed sized quilts all to be donated. Especially needed for Hospice are twin bed sized quilts (quilted not tied). They are lacking quilts for men so that can be a focus. At our next meeting Helen will give us a quick tutorial on self-binding receiving blankets for babies. Each blanket requires one 30-inch square and one 40-inch square of flannel. Her directions are from Missouri Star if you want to Google them.
The next meeting will be held on May 1 at Betty’s home.
