Members of the Book Group met at the home of Betty Kennedy to discuss "The Tattooist of Auschwitz", a novel by Australian author Heather Morris. The novel is based on a true story as told to the author by a Slovakian Jew of his experiences as a prisoner of Auschwitz-Birkenau during the Holocaust. He related his observations of the atrocities and barbarism endured in the camps, but also acts of bravery and compassion which led to saving his and others' lives.
This was generally considered to be an interesting story, but some criticism was expressed of the author's presentation of the story.
Victoria Brown says
