January Report
The Knotty Ladies met at the home of Meridel Hedges substituting for Carol Kato who passed away unexpectedly in December. Two guests, Sue Brown and Karla Hanan, joined us. Neither has chosen to become a Knotty Lady but we enjoyed having them as our guests.
The schedule of meetings for 2020 was firmed up and has been sent to Linda O’Neal for inclusion on the EPWC web site. Maxine delivered several pillow cases to the Children’s Advocacy Center and learned that they can use even more pillow cases. She said we received a thank you from the NICU team for the baby blankets recently donated. Dora and Lydia donated two quilts to Celia’s House in Carol Kato’s name. Celia's House can use twin bed sized quilts. Helen has been delivering placemats to Food and Friends in our name. They can use more placemats. Helen also donated two doll quilts to Piece Makers at Rogue Valley Manor to be included in their toy plus blanket drive. Anyone interested in sending a block or two to fire victims of Australia check with Bonnie. She needs the blocks by January 18. Blocks must be 12 ½ square and should feature a tree or trees. Bill Newcomb suggested that EPWC send their donation in Carol Kato’s memory to the Knotty Ladies who could use the money to make a quilt in Carol’s name and donate it to a worthwhile cause. We will keep you posted on the outcome of that suggestion.
Show and Tell was once again a dazzling display of creativity. The Ladies will meet again on February 5 at Maxine’s home.
