Maxine hosted the Knotty Ladies on February 5. The 2020 meeting calendar was discussed with all meetings assigned except the December event which is TBA. Each member received a beautiful Valentine themed mug mat made by Helen. With Meridel leaving the group soon, it was time to elect a new chairperson. Helen Hensley was elected unanimously. She will take over in March.
EPWC made a donation in memory of Carol Kato. Carol’s family gifted that money to the Knotty Ladies with the hope that it could be used to buy supplies for a memorial quilt. Maxine purchased a 24 X 42 inch panel that will become the center of this memorial quilt. Members are asked to bring block patterns and coordinating fabrics to the March meeting. The current plan is to add sashing, coordinating blocks, and borders to create a wall hanging or lap quilt.
Stacks of quilted items were presented for donation. Bonnie will coordinate the doll quilts and see that they get to the Toys for Tots program. Helen will take the placemats to Food and Friends. There were flannel baby blankets, pillow cases, and comfort quilts donated. Dora and Lydia are assembling a gift basket for a baby girl and they are accepting all appropriate donations. For a small group, the Knotty Ladies are very productive.
Our next meeting will be at Helen’s house on March 4.
