The Book Club did a group email meeting to discuss a book called, Dear Mad’m.
Dear Mad’m is about an 80 year old woman who decided to move to Happy Camp for a year to live in her cabin on her mining claim to see how she would fair on “her young legs”.
The host, Betsy Hase sent out information about the author and some background on the book an hour before the meeting would have commenced. A few questions were presented to the group to think about and respond to at our normal meeting time.
We got lots of interesting points of view about the book that came into our emails that stimulated some good feedback about the book, how it was written, the time frame that it came from and what was important to her at that time. She was a tough, feisty old gal that made the best of what she had and enjoyed the simple things in life.
