Book Club met at the home of Sheris Fine and enjoyed her lovely patio and views of the hillsides towards Mt. Mcloughlin. We discussed Char Hoppe's choice of book 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Khaled Hosseini. It's a tale of Afghan history that centers on two women a generation apart. It focuses on their struggles in the war torn country and how the changing culture affects them in their quest for survival. We all felt privileged and grateful to be living in the U.S.A.
