Sarah Bernhardt takes on Shakespeare's Hamlet in this award-winning play at The Collaborative Theater Project. In 1899 Sarah cast herself as the tortured Prince of Denmark in an era when women did not play male roles. The acting was superb while the plot was a bit confusing at times. The second half of the play pulled it all together. There was 14 of us attending this performance. Teresa Allen brought her two nephews James and Ryan as her guests. Julie Riley came with her daughter Nora. We had some last-minute cancellations. Ann Grossman and Aleli Lawson filled in for those who could not make it. I defiantly learned a lot about Sarah Bernhardt and the equally famous people that surrounded her.
