I learned a new word today-” Volunteerism.” Our June 19, 2024, luncheon featured a panel discussion with the topic of “What we gain when we volunteer?” The panel included Wyn Lewis, as moderator, Janie Monette, representing the EP Food Bank & EP food Project, Bob Pinnell, from EP Community Foundations (Sowa, Ave of the Flags, 4th of July, Veterans Parade on 9/11), Jay O'Neal, Chamber events (Youth sports, Senior Center), Dianne Mihocko, Rogue Power-packs (collecting and delivering food for children to fill the gap during the weekend), Viki Brown, Jackson County Library and Friends of the Library.
Thank you, Wyn, for putting together this informative and inspiring presentation. We loved your personal story about your journey into volunteering. Kudos to you!
At today's meeting, we introduced our new board members, Ruth Jenks, Treasurer, and Mary Harper, Secretary. Thank you both for stepping up to fill these vacant positions.
We'd also like to thank Mary and her team of creative EPWC members for making our table decorations.
