September 1, Labor Day, and you know what that means? No more white pants. I know that’s a fashion rule but, until our daytime high temperatures drop down into the 70’s, I may break that rule just to stay cool.
Our August luncheon was so much fun. Thanks to our Luncheon Program Coordinator, Becky Newell, members in attendance got to learn a tremendous amount about butterflies and moths. John Jackson, AKA “The Bug Guy”, shared his knowledge, humor and collection of specimens from around the world.
Kudos to Mary Harper, Luncheon Coordinator, for streamlining the registration and ‘check-in’ process, making all new nametags with lanyards, and creating the perfect centerpieces. They were simply BEEutiful……pun intended.
During the luncheon, a few members shared their surprise with the lunch menu. As you may remember, it was necessary to scale down the menu choices to keep the price for members affordable. Since this was the first luncheon with the new menu, Mary gave the feedback to the event coordinator at RVCC and is pleased to report that there will be more choices in the future. However, it cannot be the full 3 course meals we had in the past. Costs have simply risen too much.
As always, your suggestions are welcome and taken seriously. Your Board wants to do anything and everything possible to make this the best social club ever.
Now, read on and see what’s happening in September! I hope to see you soon and often!
