The Piecemakers have had some excitement this month! 3 of our ladies won ribbons for their amazing quilts at the regional quilt show put on by “Mountain Stars Quilt Guild”. Linda Greenstone won a 3rd place for the “Guild Challenge”, Kelly
Leatherwood won 3rd place for “Pieced Block of the Month”, and Bonnie Scriba won 3 ribbons. A 1st place for “Medium Pieced”, and two second-place ribbons. One for “Medium-sized, Pieced” quilt and the other was a “Block of the Month” quilt. (The Mountain Stars guild covers the area from Brookings to Klamath Falls and from Roseburg to No. Calif. )
Kelly Leatherwood was also highlighted on KOBI /channel 4 for her work in organizing “The Quilts Of Valor” program for the SoOregon region. On April 1st we also went on a field trip. We visited the “Thread and Hen Quilt Shop” in Grants Pass and had lunch afterward at Thai BBQ. A good time was had by all!
This month, the Piecemakers will be working on their Colláge Quilts again or a UFO. We had so much fun with the class that Joyce Lingren taught that we decided to continue it for 1 more month. We will be meeting at Stitched Quilt Shop (5104 Crater Lake Avenue, Central Point), on May 6th at 1:00pm. If you are interested in joining us, call/text/email Linda Greenstone.
