In the blink of an eye, June is here. June is the month when sunshine, beach trips, graduations, weddings and backyard barbecues fill your calendar. And, while I’m talking about calendars, check out the newly designed calendar of Eagle Point Women’s Club activities. Thank you to Denise Fikes, your board Secretary and design wizard, who was able to fit a plethora of information in a single 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper! We will distribute these calendars at our June 17 luncheon and it is always available on our website.
Speaking of our luncheon on June 17, it will be held in the Pavilion at the Eagle Point Golf Course. We have lots of space so there is no limit to the number of members and guests that can attend. If you haven’t already registered, please do so soon. Back by popular demand, our speaker will be estate planning attorney Penny Austin, The menu will be a plentiful taco buffet and we do need to have a final count by June 8.
It’s with sadness I report that our Luncheon Coordinator, Mary Harper, has submitted her resignation to the Board. Mary has done a fantastic job managing all the details of our bimonthly luncheons and hers’ will be difficult shoes to fill. Join me in thanking Mary for her tireless work and we hope to see her soon and often at EPWC activities. The Board is beginning the process of identifying a member to assume the role of Luncheon Coordinator to complete Mary’s term. If you or someone you know has an interest in learning more about the responsibilities of Luncheon Coordinator, a job description is available on our website. And, of course, you can reach out to any member of the Board.
Many of you have already heard the sad news that Joni Parson passed away on May 14. Joni was a long-time member of EPWC and her husband, Nick, has requested the details of her memorial be shared. It will be held on June 27th at the Olsrud Building at the Expo starting at 11:00 am. Our Caring Connections team will be helping with refreshments and if you would like to help, please contact Jeanne Wallace. I know we all send our heartfelt condolences to Joni’s family.
In the May Blast, I asked if members would be interested in a tour of Rogue Community College’s Health Professions Center in White City. We have scheduled the tour for Tuesday, June 23 at 10:00 and we have room for a few more members. Let me know if you would like to join the tour.
I look forward to seeing you at the June 17 luncheon❣️
