Recently, at an Eagle Point Women’s Club function, several members asked whether a tour could be arranged to visit the JOY Community.
The JOY Community was established a little over a year ago to provide tiny homes for senior citizens who have become homeless. Seniors are currently the fastest-growing segment of the homeless population in the United States, often because fixed incomes can no longer keep pace with rising housing costs. JOY Community is building a safe, small-scale community where seniors can live with stability, dignity, and belonging. The project will provide over 100 long-term homes for seniors in Medford.
