In four days we celebrate our great country and the freedoms we all share. Eagle Point is celebrating in a number of ways and Eagle Point Women’s Club is partnering with Eagle Point Golf Club to participate in the parade. Please look for us in the parade and cheer us on as we pass. In addition, we will have a booth on the parade route with handouts that provide information about who we are and what we do. And, stop by the booth to say, “Hello,” to Becky Newell and her mother, Kay Roggenbuck, who have graciously offered to set up and man the booth.
Over 80 members registered to attend the June 17 luncheon held in the Pavillion at Eagle Point Golf Club. It is fantastic to have a local venue large enough to accommodate all members who want to attend the luncheon.I want to formally thank Cathy Wallace, owner of Heaven Scent and a member of EPWC. She donated flowers and babies breath to add to the flowers members cut from their own gardens. Together we made 22 beautiful centerpieces. Besides thanking Cathy, we can express our gratitude with a simple gesture. If you have extra vases taking up room in your cupboard, and I’m sure many of you do, give them to Cathy instead of taking them to a local charity. She would greatly appreciate it.
Let’s give a shout out to Jeanne Wallace and the members of her Caring Connections group. They demonstrated the love of our members by volunteering to help with Joni Parsons’s celebration of life. They helped set up the Osrud building at the Expo the day before the celebration. Then, on the day of the celebration, they greeted guests and offered programs, water and snacks to the hundreds of attendees. Because purple was Joni’s favorite color, Cathy Soreng brought beautiful purple scarves for all the volunteers to wear. Thank you to all who participated❣️
I hope this finds you all enjoying these first days of summer and activities that bring you happiness. I hope to see you all soon and often❤️
Liz
