We had a very sensitive and enlightening meeting regarding the book, The River is Waiting by Wally Lamb.
This is a very well-written but heartbreaking story that involves the death of a child because of a parent’s alcoholism. It deals with imprisonment, and finally, redemption through experience, art and nature.
