Seven spunky ladies hiked the newly established Applegate Ridge Trail outside of Jacksonville on Friday April 20th. The weather was glorious and the views spectacular. An added bonus was the abundant wildflowers in bloom. Along the way we met schoolchildren and two of the trail’s founders, David Callahan, Chairman of the Applegate Trail Association and Duane Mallam who cut the trail inch by inch along the ridgeline. A bench about halfway down the trail gave us a resting spot to view the snow-covered mountains
