Our group, being new, had its first two meets, March 4th and March 18th. It was great hearing how each member learned as a child to love reading, learning the joy of reading, and the types of books they like to read now, along with types they hate to read. Each attendee enthusiastically presented a book they considered one they'd highly recommend to others and spoke about why they'd recommend it. I saw folks jotting down names of books as people spoke and one attendee said 'you just made me want to read that book!' Yippee. Discussion centered on things like 'what countries are the top 3 in number of hours people read each week' and 'what percentage of people in the U.S. don't read a single book in a year', and 'what are the top 3 genres read in the U.S.?' Our group will beginning April 1 be meeting at a members home and we appreciate her offer of her home. If you want to join this group, as of this writing we still had a little room, so email me.
