On January 15th we had a very productive planning meeting, hosted by Linda Greenstone. The 2020 schedule was planned. Our February 5, 2020 meeting will be a shopping/lunch trip to Ashland. We bounced around a couple of ideas for lunch and decided on Brickman’s.
When scheduling we tried to keep a balance between structure and free time to work on our own projects but even with structured activities, everyone is welcome to work on their own projects. Our schedule is more of a guide that is subject to change. We also believe in learning from each other—if you have a tip, tool, pattern, project, feel free to share. We have two sessions planned for working on quilt of valor blocks for Mountain Star Quilters. In May, we will be learning about attaching hanging sleeves to quilts. This is timed to encourage everyone to submit quilts to the Mountain Star Quilters Quilt Show June 26 and 27. We also hope to attend the Klamath Falls Quilt Show on July 25 and 26. Last year we combined it with lunch and shopping at Tater Patch Quilts in Merrill and had a great time.
We also discussed sharing some of the responsibilities of the group chair. Elaine offered to take over the task of posting activities and photos on the Eagle Point Women’s Club website. Thank you Elaine for volunteering to do this. Thank you too to Linda, Kelly and Betty for offering to host the meetings from time to time.
We had a show & tell, of course. Terry Sheldon shared two of her beautiful quilts with us. Linda's adorable poodle, Pepper, really liked the big one! Enjoy the pictures.
We are looking forward to another fun year of quilting!
