“ The Sweetness of Water” is the powerful debut novel of Ashland Oregon’s High School graduate Nathan Harris. Nothing before has been written from the intimate perspective of the people living in Georgia during the last days of the Civil War and The Emancipation Proclamation.
Ten Eagle Point Women met that the home of Susan Watson to discuss the book. Everyone was drawn to the vivid characters and the descriptive imaginative writing style of the author. It’s hard to believe that a 29 yr. old young man could convey the emotions of such a diverse cast of characters with such immense beauty and empathy.
