The EPWC Theater Group got into the Halloween spirit by attending the play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde at the Collaborative Theatre Project Sunday October 15th. You may not know the story by Robert Louis Stevenson or remember the movie with Spencer Tracy but it doesn’t matter. This Production does an excellent job of transporting you to Victorian London’s dark streets, parlors, hotels and laboratories. There are some gruesome scenes but witty lines break the tension. We found ourselves both grimacing and laughing at the same time. The play was artfully directed by Eric Poppick. What struck me most was the faces of Mr. Hyde played by four actors, one of whom is female. Each conveyed a different aspect of the transformed Dr. Jekyll. This was expertly achieved by strong acting and creative lighting.
We are so fortunate to have such talented people in our community.
