The culinary group met at the home of Cathi Soreng who co-hosted with Virginia Felker and explored recipes from the 'California the Beautiful Cookbook'. The book had history and recipes from all the different regions of California that ended up to be a great tasting experience and menu. We had teriyaki shrimp and nacho appetizers, Caesar and apple walnut salads with olive bread, then ranch chicken, herbed rice and asparagus with orange butter for the main course. We ended with strawberries Romanoff and date pudding cake and a few Ghirardelli chocolates for good measure. As usual, no one went home hungry or lacking in great conversations.
