The Knotty Ladies met at Maxine’s home on June 5. Members were reminded to pay their EPWC dues this month, a requirement of membership in the quilting group. Meridel announced that she would be unable to attend the June luncheon and present the report on our group’s activities. Maxine will do the honors — she has so little to do. Lydia unveiled the new business and membership cards which have blue or hot pink borders this time. She and Betty spent two long days working out the details and making sure Lydia could print more cards when we run out. Thank you to Betty and Lydia for their work on this project. Betty will present the costs involved at the August meeting.
Lydia reported that the movie gift basket which will be donated to the library fund raiser needs only a quilt to make it complete. Dora and Meridel will work on a lap quilt to be finished before or at the August meeting. It is too soon to know the dollar amount our gift basket for the Humane Society brought.
Meridel will send a thank you note to Jackie Gottinger for her donation of quilting fabrics. The quantities are sufficient for quilt backing and borders for the single bed quilts being made for wounded veterans. Marcia gave each of us a bookmark from the Czech Republic and chocolate from Holland.
The meeting ended with a brilliant display of quilts, a pillow case, and a throw pillow made by Lydia and Dora respectively. They certainly have an eye for color.
The Ladies are dark in July but will gather at the Hedges cabin on August 7. Bring your UFOs and spend the day quilting together. Car pool lunch arrangements will be made early in August.
