A meeting of the Knotty Ladies Quilt Group was held on January 8, 2014 at
Carol Kato’s house at 1:00 p.m. In attendance were: Lydia Davidson, Maxine Williams, Dora Moore and Carol Kato.
The “Wounded Warrior” quilt is in need of a binding. Maxine will buy some
material that will match the color scheme, preferable a navy hue. Dora and
Lydia will bring it to Grandma Mitchell’s to be quilted. We were led to
understand that there would be no charge. If there is, it will be brought up
at the next meeting, as to how much our group can afford to pay to have it
done.
The quilt (unfinished) donated by Ida will be sewn together with backing and
batting by Dora who volunteered as long as there is no immediate rush for
it. Binding is to be determined.
Dora, our treasurer, announced no change in the balance this month.
Maxine showed us the card sent from the Children’s Advocacy Center in which
they ask for a cash donation. This matter will be tabled at the next meeting
when there are more members in attendance.
Dora shared a pattern for a quilt she’s working on which makes use of 5″
charm squares. If anyone is interested in making one, she will copy the
pattern for you.
The meeting adjourned at 2:30.
