The wild and crazy Knotty Ladies invaded Marcia’s neighborhood on April 3. The first order of business was to admire and then shrink-wrap the donation basket prepared for the Humane Society’s upcoming fund raiser. The basket was stuffed with pet supplies lovingly created and/or donated by members. Carol Kato coordinated this effort and will deliver the basket in time for the fund raiser.
Also on the agenda was a discussion regarding future projects. We will once again offer a gift basket or two to the Eagle Point Library’s fund raiser, Music at the Mill, which takes place in August. Meridel will check to see if the Harnish Wayside Center would be interested in receiving a quilted wall hanging from our group. Dora offered her home as a site for a “sew-in” for members who want to get together to work on their own projects or on a group project. Members were encouraged to send a group e-mail message if they spot an interesting class or wish to form a spur-of-the-moment shop hop.
Show and Tell included a beautiful mountain retreat quilt made by Lydia for the veterans’ facility in White City. Lydia also made a cat and bunny pillow to be donated. Dora presented her American Girl doll shopping bag — too cute.
Members will be on stand-by to assist Dora following her knee surgery on April 12. Our next meeting will be held on May 1 at Betty’s home.
