The Collings Mountain Trail near Applegate Lake is best known for the infamous Bigfoot trap. After a short 1/2-mile hike to the abandoned contraption, 10 of us continued up the moderately difficult trail through a forest of madrone, Douglas fir, mixed pine, and bigleaf maple. We enjoyed lunch at McKee Bridge Restaurant following our invigorating hike.
