April special! The Eagle Point Women’s Club luncheon will be $15.00 for the April meeting. Plan to attend the April 16 luncheon meeting of the Eagle Point Women’s Club to learn more about the history of Eagle Point and have a tasty lunch.
The program will be “Almost a Great Notion: Ben Halladay’s Railroad Through Eagle Point”. Rogue Valley Historian, Larry Mullaly, tells the story of Ben Halladay, a late 1800’s Bernie Madoff. A fabulously wealthy stagecoach and shipping magnate who figured Eagle Point into his 1870 plans for the Oregon and California Railroad. Aided by Chinese labor, millions of dollars in German bond sales and high hopes, Eagle Point was destined to become the principal city of Southern Oregon, until things went very wrong.
The deadline to make luncheon reservations is Monday, April 7 . Send your $15.00 check to EPWC, P.O. Box 1013, Eagle Point, OR, 97524. For more information about the luncheon you can check the web site at epwomensclub.org or contact Annette Godfrey at 541-826-2515 or d.godfrey@charter.net

The Eagle Point Women’s Club was founded in May, 2005 as a way for women in the Eagle Point Community who have an Eagle Point mailing address to meet each other. The EPWC is a social club that meets bi-monthly on even-numbered months at the Rogue Valley Country Club. The luncheon meeting includes an interesting program, club information and a buffet lunch. A variety of interest groups are available to all members such as bridge, bunko, hiking, outings, book group, culinary, quilting, potluck gatherings and community volunteers.
Women interested in learning more about the club can attend a no-host ‘new comers coffee’ at Charley’s Restaurant in Eagle Point on the third Monday of each month at 9:00 AM.
