Eight hearty hikers enjoyed camaraderie Friday, Aug. 15 while hiking about 3.5 miles through old-growth forest of Douglas firs and sugarpines along the South Fork Rogue River. Oregon Grape, huckleberry, twinflower, and pathfinder plant formed a green carpet below the tall forest. The only obstacle was crossing a number of large downed logs across the trail. The rocky river was a perfect setting for our picnic lunch!
