A happy group of 18 ladies enjoyed a beautiful drive up to Prospect for a yummy brunch at the historic Prospect Hotel and Restaurant. The meal included assorted beverages, fresh fruit bowl, “volcano” egg soufflé, home-friend potatoes and whole grain toast and jam. The group was also able to tour the 10 guest rooms and two sitting rooms that are available at the hotel. The entire hotel facility has been renovated but maintains its historic charm. Cushy porch swings and beautiful green lawns make enjoying the outdoors at the hotel easy. With full tummies, the group set off for a short walk to Pearsoney Falls which is in a beautiful green forest and had a large amount of water crashing over the rock ledges. A short drive down the road took us to the trailhead for Mill Creek and Barr Falls which are 172 ft. and 243 ft. tall respectively. These falls are viewed across a wide canyon both drop precipitously over a flat rock ledge. A few intermittent rain showers timed themselves well so we were able to complete the hikes without getting drenched. A big thanks to outing organizer, Sharyn Close.
