The 4th of July parade theme for this year was: “Family is Everything” and the EPWC portrayed the theme with the title: “Eagle Point Women’s Club is like family”. Four panels on two sides of the float depicted learning, working, playing and eating together which are all family activities and EPWC activities. Maxine Williams and Mary Gorczewski did the planning and design work for the float and volunteers, Terry Sheldon, Ida Tolmie, Janie Monnette, Wyn Lewis, Viki Brown and Dora Moore along with Maxine and Mary did the decorating. Wolfgang and Betsy Hase and Maxine put the framework for the float together on the trailer and Betsy and Wolfgang pulled the trailer in the parade behind their pickup truck. Steve and Gayle Schanck provided the trailer and transported it to and from Maxine’s home. Maxine, Dora, Viki, Mary and Maryann Olsen rode on the float in the parade and distributed some small American flags to children on the parade route. Truly a combined effort to make this a successful parade entry. Extra-special thanks to Maxine who really makes sure that it all comes together so well.
