Eleven ladies prepared wonderful food from recipes in “The Italian Country Table” authored by Lynne Rosetto Kasper and gathered at the home of Viki Brown on Nov. 12, 2015 to taste and discuss the offerings. Betsy Hase served as co-hostess and Culinary Arts group coordinator, Carolyn Stieber led the discussion. From Signora Bimbi’s peppers to rosemary, pear pizza and arugula, red onion and pepperoncino focaccia, all of the dishes were wonderful and characteristic of the country cooking of northern Italy. Maxine Williams and Sharyn Close shared their stories about a recent trip to Italy with the Medford Chamber of Commerce and gave us all some background on the fascinating country that these foods represent. A little Italian red and white wine added a special touch to the meal. Sonya Andrews and Maxine Williams plan to host the Jan. Culinary Arts group. More details to follow.
