We all beat the heat for a few hours at the August EPWC luncheon in the ballroom at Rogue Valley Country Club. The Board recognized the Activity Group Chairwomen who were present with some beautiful flowers and hearty applause. Each Activity Group was announced on a sign carried across the room by Annette Godfrey’s grandaughter, Audrey, and each Chairwoman was escorted to the podium by Annette’s grandson, Wyatt. They both performed their jobs well and added a nice touch to the program. Information was shared with the audience about the details of what the Activity groups do and even some of the beautiful handiwork that they produce. We all know that the Eagle Point Women’s Club is great because of the ongoing, hard work of the Activity chairs. Many thanks to them for all they do. Mayor Bob Russell rounded out the program with an update on new developments in the city and the progress on the Butte Creek Mill Foundation and rebuilding effort. Debbie Tossie gave a report on plans for the 2016 Classy Country party which is scheduled for Dec. 3 at Ronky Tonk Saloon in Medford. A big thanks to Debbie, Valerie Taylor-Crow and Mary Gorczewski who are serving as the Christmas party planning committee. You can’t forget about the great food too- chicken cordon bleu, veggies, salad, red potatoes and a lemon bar with fresh raspberries. Nobody went home hungry.
