17 creative women joined in a festive celebration of the bold and varied flavors of Latin food at the Culinary Arts lunch held at Viki Brown's home on Feb. 7 which was decorated with bright Latin colors. Sue Tschohl served as co-hostess. The women who attended each prepared a recipe for a part of the menu which was selected by Sue and Viki from the cookbook: "Isabel's Cantina" authored by: Isabel Cruz. Sue shared some of Isabel's history and how that shaped her unique Latin flavors. Isabel was owner of Dragonfly Restaurant in Ashland for a number of years. Each cook described her recipe and any unique learning or challenges it presented. Each dish was enjoyed right through the flourless chocolate cake with ginger whipped cream and caramelized bananas with rum over vanilla ice cream. Lots of lively conversation and two hours of sampling great food and drink made for a perfect event. We were happy to have four new ladies attend: Linda Webb, Wyn Lewis, Jackie O'Neil and Julie Reve.
