72 members and guests assembled at the Rogue Valley Country Club on April 17 for our bi-monthly luncheon. The four guests who attended joined the Club as members before they left for the day. It is great to welcome new friends to our great group. The business meeting reminded people that membership dues need to be paid by May 31, 2019 and can now be done online. Members for the July 4 kazoo band are being sought and a sign-up sheet was available. Our annual picnic is scheduled for July 14 and online registration will be available soon. Our guest speaker for the day was Peggy Dover, local author and newspaper columnist, who gave us an entertaining tour of her life and the circumstances that led her to actualizing her dream of becoming a professional writer. Peggy used lots of humor but also urged us all to pursue our dreams no matter our age or the loftiness of the dream. "Trips and Tangents", Peggy's book, was available for sale with a personal autograph from the author. A great buffet lunch, celebration of April and May birthdays and some good social time filled out the event.
