The Knotty Ladies met at Helen Hensley's home on May 15, 2020 for the first time since Mar. 4. With coronavirus restrictions in place we considered a video meeting, but the Phase 1 guidelines made an in-person meeting possible. Lydia Davidson's beautiful patio was the setting for the meeting and masks and social distancing were observed. It was so good to see and talk to all of the women in our group. I didn't realize how much I missed seeing all of them. We had kept in touch by phone, e-mail and Facebook for the past few months. We had a wonderful time talking and catching up on what everyone had been doing.
Fabric facial masks were the top subject, which Maxine, Bonnie, Betty, Lydia, Dora, Meridel and I have all been making for family, friends and the community. Maxine talked about using t-shirt fabric for mask ties as elastic and bias tape have been hard to find. All of the mask makers are to be applauded for their efforts to keep us safe and healthy. Bonnie crafted some Crown Royal masks for a friend and mailed them to her. We also discussed and shared other projects that we are working on. We hope to have another meeting at Betty's home on Sept. 2, 2020.
