A group of almost 60 members and guests gathered at the Rogue Valley Country Club for the February, 2023, EPWC luncheon. Featured speaker was Amber Cross, PT, DPT, clinic manager at Jackson County Physical Therapy in Eagle Point. Amber provided an overview of factors that contribute to acute and chronic injuries and then provided exercises and strategies to help prevent them. The group even got to try out a few of the techniques for lifting objects safely. Amber answered a variety of questions and provided encouragement to everyone that lost strength and flexibility can be regained with regular exercise. A big thanks to Amber for her time and shared expertise. We also celebrated Feb. birthdays, conducted our usual business meeting and had the opportunity to sign up for the many activity groups available to members. The room was filled with friendly conversations and warm greetings for members who have not attended a luncheon in a long time. A great buffet lunch with caramel apple cheesecake for dessert completed the event.
